What time does the mini crossword come out?
The Times help center says the next mini goes up at 10 p.m. Eastern the day before Monday–Saturday puzzles, and at 6 p.m. Eastern on Saturday for Sunday’s puzzle.

| Source | What it says | Status |
|---|---|---|
| NYT Help Center | Monday–Saturday: 10 p.m. ET the previous day; Sunday: 6 p.m. ET on Saturday | Primary · help center |
| Beebom | Same schedule: Sunday’s puzzle arrives Saturday at 6 p.m. ET | Agrees with the help center |
| StuckOnWordle | Midnight Eastern | Conflicts with the help center |

The Times clock
If you want the Times puzzle, use their help center, not a blog that says midnight. The help center’s reading is 22:00 Eastern for the puzzle that belongs to the next weekday or Saturday, and 18:00 Eastern on Saturday for the Sunday puzzle. Beebom quotes that same pair of times. StuckOnWordle says midnight Eastern. I do not average 10 p.m. and midnight into 11 p.m. The help center wins, and the midnight line stays in the table as a conflict.
Eastern time moves with daylight saving. A 10 p.m. Eastern release is 7 p.m. Pacific on the same clock rules, and 3 a.m. in the UK the next morning when the US and the UK are five hours apart. When the gap is four hours, that UK time is 2 a.m. I am not printing a full-year conversion chart beyond that, because the offset changes.
Other newsrooms
The Guardian puzzle dated 4 November 2026 is timestamped 00:00 GMT. On that date, UK midnight is 19:00 Eastern Standard Time the previous evening. Offsets differ around daylight-saving transitions, so UK midnight should not be described as one fixed US hour all year. A secondary write-up says the Los Angeles Times mini changes around midnight Eastern. The Los Angeles Times page itself did not state a clock in the sources I used, so that midnight line stays marked as secondary.
This site does not follow the Times evening drop. The puzzle dated 4 November 2026 is the puzzle for that calendar date. The next date appears when that page is published.

Questions
Is the Times mini released at midnight?
The help center says no. It says 10 p.m. Eastern the previous day for Monday–Saturday puzzles, or 6 p.m. Eastern on Saturday for Sunday’s puzzle. A midnight claim conflicts with that page.
When does this site’s puzzle change?
On the calendar date in the URL. It is not tied to 10 p.m. Eastern.
Why do two sites disagree?
They are describing different products, or one of them is wrong about the Times. The table keeps both wordings.
